Game library and play tracker
GameTrack pulls a Steam library onto a kanban board, logs play sessions with a mood rating and lets each game be rated on six player motivations. Built from November 2025 to February 2026, never deployed.
What it is

GameTrack is a web app for keeping track of the games I play. Steam sign-in pulls the library in, and every game sits on a kanban board. A play session runs on a timer and ends with a mood rating; between sessions, the change in Steam playtime gives a rough session length too.
Besides a score out of ten, each game can be rated on six player motivations: exploration, socializing, achievement, immersion, competition and creativity. The game page draws my ratings as a radar on top of the average of everyone who rated it. Discovery and news pages pull from IGDB, Steam news and three gaming news feeds.
What happened
Source: GameTrack git log (43 commits, all mine) and docs/plans/2026-02-25-gametrack-consolidation-roadmap-design.md
The core came together in the first week: sign-in, library sync, game pages and reviews. A news feed followed two months later.
When I came back in February, I wrote a consolidation plan before adding anything new. Two pages used Tailwind and the rest used inline styles, the dashboard's time filter did nothing, the game modal reset its ratings every time it opened, and every page fetched its own data with no cache. The plan had five phases, one page at a time, and all five were done in two days. Then the work stopped. The app never went online, and the schema still holds models that never got a working screen, like a journal, play plans and a player profile.
